Better Google Searches

Hi folks Darren Webb Here

Are you like a majority of people and do your Google searches with just the keywords your after?

Foe example if your searching for hound dog kennels…you will just type hound dog kennels…right ?

Well there are better ways you can improve on your searches that better define the search and the amount of websites that have the field you are looking for which I’ll show you in a second or two.

But first let me just explain how a search engine will search your keyword. If you type in hound dog kennels, Google will go off and search for anything optimized with hound in the site and then search for dog  within a site and then Kennels within a site….hence the reason it comes back with thousands if not millions of potential websites or pages with this search term in.

Now to narrow this down thee best way to search on Google is by adding speech marks at the start and end of your keywords like this “hound dog kennels”

This way the search engine will search for “hound dog kennels” as one sentence and NOT separate words thus reducing your search to more specific sites of your particular search

Try it for yourself  and see !!!

Let me know your thoughts.

I hope this has been useful

Hi Folks Darren Webb Here

So many people have been saying for months now that using the social marketing sites like MySpace, Facebook and the others is a great way to get traffic.

But there’s been a problem and that’s been that nobody has ever showed you how to do actually do it.

Not only that but a lot of these social sites don’t like you posting your website links and affiliate links all over the place so you can sometimes end up getting blocked or just not getting any traffic.

Well I found myself in the same position - I knew a little bit about social marketing, enough to be dangerous. But the problem was that although I was spending plenty of hours on these websites I just wasn’t getting any traffic or sales.

That’s when I started to look around and realized that wouldn’t it be great if there was a way you could watch how to properly get set up with the social sites in such a way that you were guaranteed to get lots of traffic?

Using these social marketing sites to get lots of highly targeted traffic is free. Great huh?

Is Your Site Web 2.0? If Not, Perhaps it Should Be.

Hi Folks Darren Here

I just saw interesting report via MicroPersuasion. A recent study showed that Web 2.0 has a very great reach within large companies. A study done by Clearswift did a survey with 827 individuals in large companies (1,000 employees and up) and found the following:

  • 43% of office workers access social media sites from their work computers several times a day
  • 51% spend an hour or more a week on the sites; 13% spend five hours or more
  • 46% have discussed work-related issues on social media sites
  • 46% regularly access Wikipedia during work hours
  • 50% believe they have a right to use work computers for personal internet access

What do you think of these findings? Do they come as a surprise to you? Are they representative of your surfing behavior?

Link request

Hi folks Darren Webb here

I got an email today out of the blue from someone wanting to exchange links with one of my websites.

It’s a great idea right?  They link to me and I link to them - excellent.

Well guess how many words they took to tell me in en email that this is what they wanted to do?

270!  That’s right - 270 words explaining the ins and outs of exchanging links with them. They even told me why their geographic position had no bearing on whether I should swap links with them or not!

As if this wasn’t bad enough - every one of my sites has an in-built links directory where people can add their link automatically so the very fact I received an email like this means they’ve not even taken the trouble to look at my site properly!

Lessons Learned

If you are approaching another website owner to ask them to trade links with you, treat it like you’re the postman delivering to a house where a rabid dog lives – GET IN, DROP THE MAIL, GET OUT.  Don’t mess around with lengthy explanations or massive paragraphs.  Just tell them where you’ve placed their link and that you want one back - simple.

And before you even get to this stage - be sure to check out their website first otherwise you might find them writing a blog about YOUR email..

Happy link-swapping..

The money is in the list

Hi Folks Darren Webb Here

Building an email list should be considered THE most important part of your marketing strategy. In most cases, capturing visitors email addresses is THE most important goal – even more important than making the sale.

Quite surprising, isn’t it? Here’s why it is so important…

You see, statistics show that the average potential customer needs to get exposure to a product 7 times before deciding to buy that product.

Seven times.

But when your potential customers come to your website and you only get ONE chance to sell to them, and if they are not convinced this one time, you will lose them forever.

So how are you going to give them 7 exposures when most of your website visitors will come to your site only once?

That’s when building your email list and publishing newsletter comes as the best solution. Here’s how…

One of the best ways to build a list and establish a strong relationship with your subscribers, is to publish your own newsletter. Your newsletter will give you the opportunity to get in touch with your subscribers in an on-going basis, so you can build a good relationship with them.

Also since you publish helpful articles in your newsletter, your subscribers will see you are a REAL expert and so you will gain their trust. After that, they will buy many of your products and also the affiliate products that you recommend.

When you want to start your newsletter, you should create a professional layout for it because your newsletter layout can make or break your reputation and professional image.

You might like to check out these helpful newsletter layout tips to see how you can create a great-looking layout for your newsletter.

Anyway, so because of the need to give an average of 7 exposures to your products to your prospects, it’s completely essential that you put a lot of focus on getting the most number of your visitors to subscribe to your list.

So let’s look at it this way:

If you don’t capture your visitors’ names and email addresses on your website, you will lose them FOREVER.

That’s why there’s a famous sentence in the Internet marketing world that all the experts always say:

“The money is in the LIST.”

If you are already building your list by putting a signup form on your website to capture your visitor’s email addresses is very good and shows that you are aware that building a list is important.

But knowing that building your list, building relationship and trust with your subscribers, and monetizing your list effectively are the most important part of your business, that will make a big difference on the overall way you focus your time and energy.

I hope this has been useful
